Since mid-May, I have only worn shorts during that coveted down time we all enjoy. A scorching hot summer has made the choice of dress easier to make, but with temperatures as low as 40 forecast this week, that streak is about to end.
Frankly, I wish it had ended on the glorious Sunday that just passed. I attended church in shorts, and was drafted to be an usher because of a shortage in help. I was glad to lend a hand, but wish I was wearing a bit more formal garb.Collection of recommend press release and on china wholesale bridesmaid dresses, including wholesale dress china.
Paul and Theresa Carlson, of Kankakee, held their 30th wedding anniversary celebration last Saturday, and I was honored to be among the guests. Their seven children were on hand, and it was the first time the entire family had gathered together in a couple of years.
Their long union symbolizes many things, and among them is this -- the easy way is seldom the best way. In a day and age when about 1 in 2 marriages ends in divorce, the easy thing to do is call a lawyer when the first sign of trouble arises.
But the Carlsons have stuck it out. Kudos to them and all the other couples who have enjoyed many years of matrimony.
Kankakee earned mention through an unusual medium Sunday -- KMOX radio in St. Louis.
The station carries St. Louis Cardinals baseball games, and the Cards were on the West Coast playing the Los Angeles Dodgers. When St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina threw out a Dodgers' base runner midway through the game,Luxurious white, ivory designer ball gown wedding dress at chapel train is the best for church wedding occasions. broadcaster John Rooney (who for many years was a Chicago White Sox broadcaster) remarked,Enjoy our fresh 2012 collections of Cheap Wedding Dresses and special occasion dresses. Lastly, a local FM radio station was asking its listeners this question the other day: "What's you're favorite song to sing along with when you're driving down the road?''
For sentimental reasons, my answer would either be "Radar Love'' by Golden Earring, "Baker Street'' by Gerry Rafferty, "Police and Thieves'' by The Clash or "Hollywood Nights'' by Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
Why? In each case, I was in a car at a memorable moment when these songs came on the air. In the case of "Hollywood Nights,'' a friend and I were driving toward Sunset Strip when the song started to play.
